The Type Faces Project
“For me, every font has a face. Putting a face to each font family helps on how we judge the tone of the message we write with them”
Idea:
Somewhere during summer time of 2011 I have taken a month off while preparing and moving from Lisbon to Amsterdam where I was going to live and work. During that period I started a project just for fun, playing around with the different characters and glyphs putting a face to each font, hence visualizing the personality of those fonts. This lead me to funnier fonts for the likes of Comic Sans, Modern ones like Gill Sans or Futura, and the old styled Baskerville, and so on and so forth. It was fun, it gained some traction on design blogs and eventually some of the prints got exhibited in London and in Colorado.
